REALLY GREAT! This game has a splendid atmosphere for sure and really made me feel DREAD via the sound design especially at that one part in the shed. I did run into an issue, though! At the point where you're in the office if you run into the little shelving unit at a weird angle you get stuck within it and cannot progress. Nonetheless, a great game.

It amazes me how you're a junior high student and managed to create a game like this as it both looks and plays itself incredibly clean, so mad respect. May I know which program you used and how much time of experience you have? I'd love to start working on one or two of my own game ideas but I don't know if it's worth to start just now since I won't have the time to continue in a few months

And the truth is im still very new to game development, i learnt how to use unreal engine while i was making my first game on my page, so it was like semi trying out different things and semi trying to make a game. And the shopping list is my second game after getting used to the engine. So i havent really made any games except this one and my first one as a learning ue4 game!
I spent about 2-3 months making the shopping list and thats while also having ALOT of tests in school and not having to much time to work on a game.
But even though i barely had any time to work on the game i still found maybe like an hour to work on it, and it really motivates you to continur when you make small progress towards the ending of the game. So dont worry about it taking too long! Think of it as being something that you can turn to whenever you feel like it, dont force yourself to work on the game because that lack of passion will show. Instead work on the game when you feel ”Oh i really wanna add this in the game, or continue working on it” because thats what will keep you motivated and thats also what will show the passion in your game!
if you have a game idea that your passionate about then you should really go for it, when you make a game from an idea that you like, that passion will show in your work. Go for it!

Yeah man i really think you should try! And learning code isnt that difficult once you get the hang of different things. After a while of coding you should be able to create whatever you want, coding is basically just using very simple logic that anyone can understand in a goofy language. But once you get used to what does what you will eventually get to that point where you can create anything you want in your game and improvise the code for that specific thing in your game!

Amazing gameplay especially for something that costs a minimum of zero dollars to play. This is definitely the cream of the crop as far as free horror games go, interesting story, great ambiance and environmental design, a true pleasure to play through.
It was realy good and thriller for play, so much good work in it. I see just a bad side which is can't controlling the dialogue. Sometimes I didn't catch the sentences which means a lot for the story. After all, this is a masterpiece, bless your hands.
You need a tool like WINRAR to extract it! On itch.io you have to upload your game as a rar file and it also helps with cutting down the file size generally.
I was not expecting the ending!! I really enjoyed this game. It was a good flowing story and easy to understand how to play. If you want to delve into a fascinating story for a few hours through a game format, this is your cup of tea.
Seriously, great work on this. I hope you make some more games like this, you definitely have a talent for this.
some well meant criticism: Due to the game being very linear and hard-scripted where in every major event or jump-scare the player can't move or look around, I expected very early on that there would be no threat in the entire game you actively have to run away from. That's why even in the butcher house I as a player felt very safe because I knew that I'm not responsable for what happens and I can't really fail. So maybe remove a few cutscenes and trust that the player will experience them without the game's help. Also (super minor criticism) the fact that you run faster diagonally further takes away from the horror because it's an unmeant mechanic that allows you to move quicker than you're supposed to which further eliminates any fear of being caught.
Other than that I really liked the game! It had some humor to it and the characters were really likable and didn't just feel like tools to help you progress. The audio created an unnerving atmosphere despite my mentioned criticism. Also the fact that you face towards the door during the shower scene is great, it plays with the player's anticipation.
The game is really likable and I can tell that a lot of love went into making it. Also R.I.P RUUBEENN YOU DIDN'T DESERVE THAT D:
Had a real fun time with this game. Good environment, great colors, good music, and an overall creepy story. Give it a play. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Watch out for the butcher ;)

The game is meant to be played in one sitting so there is no save feature! and you have to close the game by shutting down the process
