i liked the game it was very good, but i would recommend keeping a closer eye on the scaling of objects and the world. sometimes the scaling feels like you are a goblin crawling across the ground.
In particular, the music of the 1970s and 1980s flowing from the game adds depth to the game, allowing you to see the background of the times, further enhancing the sense of immersion.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Great storytelling and stellar choice of soundtrack. You guys' work is outstanding, props to all the voiceactors.
SPOILER!
I think I managed to skip part of the story though? Back at the docks when you are supposed to pick up the suit, I just took it and went to the jetski, thus hearing Carlos do his voiceline and skipping whatever happened later at the docks. It then took me straight to the gated house.
Great game, I think I may have accused every character including us as being the Crow Killer. The art style was great and the game felt very well paced. Really enjoyed playing through your game!
Hey there! Let me start by saying that you are a talented dev. Horror games aren't usually my scene (I'm easy to scare :p) but I got so hooked to the story! I love the voice acting and all the twists and turns. The game is beautifully done and you deliver the story at a great pace as well.
The scare aspect of the game is executed well too! Horror games that don't rely on jumpscares to bring out the scare factor are most enjoyable in my opinion. It allows the players to really take in the plot without being too paranoid of constant scares
8.5/10 - You are a detective chasing crows to serve justice to all of the Crow Killer's victims as you increasingly get consumed by your obsession
I'm happy to be one of the first people to upload gameplay of The Final Pin
Hi there, I am DragonExplosion and I am a Youtuber. If you like my videos, please leave a like and subscribe at my channel.
This was a really interesting horror game that is quite different from the ones that the creator had created in his previous games. The Final Pin is more focused on the story-telling and incorporating various horror elements in the game. The Final Pin has a really interesting and attractive storyline that pushes the player to figure out who is the killer in the game and the effort and time spent to create the amazing ending scenes for the game really makes the entire experience feel complete and full. Furthermore, the voice-acting for the game was really, really good and it really adds value into the entire horror game experience.
The Final Pin makes use of horror elements like rusty metal in the sewers, the fear of drowning, narrow hallways, large spaces, lighting, well-placed jumpscares, puzzles, quests, great eerie music and sound effects and more to create a one of a kind game experience for the player. The various segments of the game depicting the things that the main character has to do on his job really helps the player to understand the various difficult tasks that a police officer may have to do from time to time. The clever use of separate story segments and side quests really help to create an immersive experience for the player.
The game was also good at adjusting the mood and atmosphere of the game where after every tense and scary moment/quest in the game, there will always be a driving scene of the main character heading back to his own home all by himself which gradually changes based on the urgency of the entire killing situation. The driving scene really emphasises the loneliness and how depressing each day can be for the main character. Moreover, the transitioning between the past and the present to let the player learn more about the main character's background and family was really nice as well. I also really liked the retro graphics in the game and the entire game just looks stunning.
The only minor issue that I had with the game was the amount of time spent travelling to places and through opening and closing doors (Black Screen). I feel that the short amount of time required to open doors and enter the next area can be quite long if you add up the amount of time used in the game for just entering a new area and opening doors.
Thank you for reading my comment and I will be looking forward to the next horror game that the creator will be working on in the future.
Ingenious design and masterful execution, yet inconclusive and a bit of divisive experience for me, personally.
To start with, I truly enjoyed the game overall. The graphics, voice acting, sound design, the environments and mechanics for each and individual case/side quest was phenomenal. Most of all I loved the story, more detective side to it and diving aspect - it felt very intense. The animations, the time cuts felt natural, I was never lost between the years and totally understood what was happening. The world of this game felt fresh, isolated and at the same time full of mystery and ambiguity, I like that a bunch. On that note, my expectations were a bit high from your previous works, specifically "The Shopping List", which is why this game might have not been exactly my cup of tea.
The dog sequence was a torture. I did not initially know where to look at, so I spent nearly 20 minutes looking for the right exit and somehow the end part where the girl is rescued left 0 effect on me. Probably the only part, which should be directly cut from the game. Let's talk about the character. Without spoilers, I think the main character in this game is very weak. The obsession over the case, the family issues and the ending was twisted too much. I would love story to be more focused on the case itself, rather than side characters, which by the way, did not feel 3 dimensional. I definitely hated Tony, because of his treatment and overall behavior, so his fate did not effect me at all. And finally, the ending - again, without spoilers - was not great. The "after credits" like scene felt goofy.
In conclusion, the game is wonderful. Massively different from your other projects. Your effort and hard work is solid gold. Hope to see more games from you.
So proud to be the first to upload this masterpiece! Such an incredible experience that every horror fan should play! Thank you so much for developing this amazing game!
Another amazing game from Jordan. This is truly another masterpiece added to his collection of games. Jordan your games brings up the standard to another level in the Indiegame world.
I had the honor of playtesting this game and man, Jordan has put so much work into this game over the past year and it really shows.
Less horror than I was expecting, but with it comes a brilliant story that carries you through the life of a police officer chasing the infamous crow killer.
There was never a dull moment and I enjoyed every moment (genuinely).
If you've played any of Jordan's games in the past, I guarantee you'll love this one even more. Keep up the great work Jordan!
